Let’s dive into the world of Neil—a relentless learner, curious thinker, and creative risk-taker at RocketShip HQ. Whether he’s tackling new UA challenges, brainstorming with teammates, or performing improv off the clock, Neil brings thoughtful energy and a love of learning to everything he does. The work at Rocketship HQ
Q1. What are three 3 words that you would use to describe yourself?
Relentless. Curious. Experimental.
Q2. What drew you to RocketShip HQ originally? How has the company changed since?
I was drawn to RocketShip HQ for two key reasons. One, the chance to work with global clients in the fast-evolving space of mobile app acquisition. Two, compared to companies in my native country, RocketShip HQ, as a global-first organization, felt way ahead of the curve in terms of how it integrated AI into its workflows. Since joining, the company’s only gotten faster and more precise.
Q3. What do you like about your job?
The learning curve. Every day brings something new. I now get to tackle the same challenges more efficiently with better tools and a sharper mindset. Also! The People. Everyone’s generous with their time, and if there’s a blocker, someone steps in with a workaround or a suggestion.
Q4. What has been your proudest moment at Rocketship HQ?
I like to believe my proudest moment is yet to come. That said, in my first two weeks, I received kudos from my team, and that early vote of confidence meant a lot.
Q5. What is a typical workday like for you?
I usually begin my workday in the afternoon with an async check-in call. That’s when I understand what’s on my plate and what’s coming up. Once I’ve planned my day, I work in 45-minute focused sprints with short breaks in between.
Career journey
Q6. What was a key inflection/turning point in your career?
COVID was a significant turning point. My organization shut down, and I was forced to reconsider everything. I leveraged my advertising and digital marketing background to begin consulting and freelancing, and discovered that I could hold my own. I started managing projects, working with larger clients, and collaborating with a few exceptional minds along the way.
Q7. Tell us about a mentor or a person who has inspired or influenced you significantly.
One of my closest school friends had a massive impact on me. We grew up competing for marks, but he went on to become a growth director while I was still figuring things out. It felt like he was just on another level. That discomfort lit a fire under me. He wasn’t a formal mentor, more like a mirror. Watching him evolve made me want to evolve, too.
Q8. What are some of the key lessons you’ve learned over the course of your career?
- Be kind. Always.
- Never work just one day at a time. Plan ahead, even if it’s just loosely.
- Manage your time well. No one else will do it for you.
Behind the scenes: Who is Neil Frankson
Q9. Tell us about your favorite travel & food spots or experiences (feel free to include more than 1).
I love the mountains. I’ve gone to Himachal multiple times, and when I’m there, I prefer staying for weeks or even months. It gives me peace, space, and clarity. As for food, I have favorite haunts across Mumbai, Pune, and Goa. Whenever I’m in those cities, I make it a point to visit those places. I also enjoy road trips, treks, and spontaneous bike rides.
Q10. What do you do for fun?
I go to the movies, perform improv and stand-up comedy, and hang out with friends. I’m a big PlayStation fan – online or offline gaming is a regular part of my downtime. Anything that allows me to unwind and be playful.
Q11. What are the top items on your bucket list?
- Take a solo Europe trip and explore the continent on my own terms (not with family this time)
- Learn to surf and catch waves at one of the world’s best surfing spots
- Go skydiving
Q12. What is a fun fact about yourself that not many people might know?
I’m obsessed with conspiracy theories – not because I believe in them, but because I love asking why so many people do. Flat Earth. Simulation theory. After life. I fall asleep watching such documentaries and wake up thinking about them.
