Scaling a wellness app: Growing to 4X UA budgets profitably, with 150% ROAS post-ATT

At 20% of their previous ad spend due to performance losses, this wellness app was reeling because of ATT. Our mandate was clear: we needed to solve for ATT’s changes, and scale their spends back profitably.

We took a multi-pronged approach, tackling creative testing, channel expansion and product focus; all with laser focus on incrementality and profitability.

Meditation app

Driving profitable UA growth post App Tracking Transparency changes

After a promising start, this wellness app hadnt been able to scale their UA profitably - at which point the meditation app team came to Rocketship HQ to unblock their growth. The culprit was of course ATT, which had changed the landscape to the point where conventional wisdom around measurement and optimization was no longer practicable.

The RocketShip HQ team has been tracking ATT from its first announcement. We were primed with alternative strategies that we could validate quickly. Learn more about how we built a robust ATT-proof UA system driven by aggressive creative testing for this mediation app that scaled profitably.

Parent Lab

Scaling across the funnel in the midst of ATT changes

Parent Lab aims to solve daily parenting challenges with science-backed, professional advice. They achieved their product-market fit, and were looking to scale their growth and diversify their acquisition channel mix.

The app was immediately struck with a couple of challenges: firstly, their CPAs were unsustainably high, and prevented them from achieving the scale they needed. Secondly, the release of ATT added exponentially more complexity to this already difficult situation.

That’s where the RocketShip HQ team came in. We had built contingency plans for ATT, and were ready to deploy them when tracking and attribution went away. Read more about how we were able to turn things around for Parent Lab, and scale their UA the way they wanted.

Hampr

Unlocking month-on-month growth in the face of ATT headwinds

Hampr is a hyperlocal, community-based laundry app. It connects people who need laundry done to those who can take on these loads in their homes for additional income.

As it stands, hyperlocal apps have always been a challenge to scale for UA. The audience is limited, tests do not have statistical significance, platform algorithms disfavor local audiences and performance is difficult to optimize. Hampr had super high CPAs to begin with, and then ATT hit. The prognosis was rapidly becoming dismal.

We anticipated the impact ATT would have on performance, so we moved in with a clear strategy to bring down CPAs, iterate rapidly through creatives, and to bring subscriber counts up profitably. This case study details our process and the exceptional outcomes we achieved for Hampr.
