“As one of the top-spending advertisers on TikTok, we have a high bar for great creatives, and Rocketship delivered on both production and performance. We thoroughly enjoyed working with the team, as they communicated strategy clearly, shared detailed briefs, and were generally very open and collaborative.”

What goes in a good mobile ad brief

A useful brief gives an editor one clear viewer, one idea to test and enough detail on the opening seconds to start work. It also separates what you know from what you are assuming, so the assumptions get checked before production money is spent.

This tool builds its hook angles with RocketShip HQ’s 3C Principle and 4-Layer Hook System. The 3Cs are Context, Clarity and Curiosity. The four layers are the visual, the text overlay, the verbal line and the audio.

How to get a better brief

Be specific about the audience and the difference. “Adults 45 and over who play a word game every day” gives the tool far more to work with than “casual gamers”. Then read the assumptions list and correct anything that is wrong before you brief your team.

Run the hook lines through the Ad Hook Scorer to tighten the words, and use the Creative Volume Calculator to see how many concepts your budget can support.

Frequently asked questions

What does the creative brief generator produce?

It writes an objective, target viewer, a core insight worded as a hypothesis, three to five hook angles with all four hook layers, body beats, call-to-action options, format notes and a list of assumptions to check before production.

Will the brief contain made-up facts about my app?

It is instructed not to invent features, prices or results, and uses bracketed placeholders where it needs a fact. It can still make inferences, so review the brief and the assumptions list before you produce anything.

Does it use benchmarks or predict performance?

It is instructed not to cite benchmarks or forecast results, and each hook angle is an idea to test. Review the brief before you use it.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

It is free with no signup. To keep it free there is a limit on how many briefs one person can generate per hour, and a limit across all users per day.

Is what I enter stored?

We do not save what you enter or write it to our logs. It is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate the brief and is handled under Anthropic’s API terms. To enforce usage limits we keep a one-way hash of your IP address for up to three days. Do not enter anything confidential.
