At Rocketship HQ OÜ ("we," "us," or "our"), publishing mobile apps under names including "Digital Culture Experience," we value your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Android and iOS mobile applications, including Kannada Calendar 2026, Hindi Calendar 2026, and other calendar applications ("Apps").

By using our Apps, you consent to the practices outlined below.

APPS COVERED BY THIS POLICY

This Privacy Policy applies to all Android and iOS mobile applications published by Rocketship HQ OÜ under names including Digital Culture Experience, including but not limited to:

  • Kannada Calendar 2026
  • Hindi Calendar 2026
  • Other regional calendar applications
  • MotionDetectr (motion and scene-change monitoring for a space you control)
  • Other apps distributed through Google Play, the Apple App Store, or other official app stores

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

A. Location Data

Our Apps request access to your device's location to provide accurate, location-specific information:

What we collect:

  • Your approximate or precise location (latitude and longitude)

How we use it:

  • Calculate accurate sunrise and sunset times for your location
  • Calculate accurate moonrise and moonset times for your location
  • Calculate location-specific Rahu Kalam, Yamagandam, and Gulika Kalam times
  • Provide accurate Panchanga (Hindu almanac) timings

Important:

  • Location data is processed LOCALLY on your device only
  • We do NOT transmit your location to our servers
  • We do NOT store your location on any external servers
  • We do NOT share your location with any third parties
  • Location access is OPTIONAL – if denied, the app uses default location (Bengaluru/Delhi) for calculations
  • You can change or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings

B. Information Collected Automatically by SDKs and Platform Services

Depending on the platform and app version, our Apps may use Firebase, Google
Mobile Ads, Google Play services, Apple App Store services, Apple platform
services, and other standard mobile SDKs or platform services. These services
may collect pseudonymous data from your device, including:

  • Usage Data: App interactions, feature usage, screen views, notification interaction events, and session information
  • Device and App Information: Device type, operating system version, app version, app-instance identifiers, Firebase installation identifiers, platform installation identifiers, and advertising identifiers where available
  • Performance Data: Crash reports, stack traces, diagnostic information, and app/session performance metadata
  • Advertising Data: Ad interactions, IP address, diagnostics, and identifiers used by advertising SDKs such as Google Mobile Ads for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention, where those SDKs are included

This data is:

  • Not used by us to identify you by name, email address, or phone number
  • Used to improve app performance, understand aggregate usage, provide crash diagnostics, display ads, and protect against fraud/abuse
  • Processed by Google Firebase, Google Analytics for Firebase, Google AdMob, Google Play services, Apple services, and/or other platform providers in accordance with their privacy policies and data-processing terms, where applicable

C. Information Stored Locally

The following information is stored only on your device:

  • Notification preferences (which notifications you've enabled/disabled)
  • Theme preferences (light/dark mode)
  • Selected birth nakshatra (if provided)
  • Date of birth (if provided for horoscope feature)
  • App usage statistics (days opened, streak count)

This data:

  • Never leaves your device
  • Is not transmitted to us or any third party
  • Can be deleted by clearing app data or uninstalling the app

D. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Personal Identification: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifiers
  • Payment Information: All payments (if any) are processed by the relevant app store or payment platform, such as Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see or store your full payment card information
  • Contacts: We do not access or collect your contacts
  • Photos: We do not access or collect your photos
  • Messages: We do not access or collect your messages

E. Camera and Local Recordings (camera-based apps such as MotionDetectr)

Some of our Apps — including MotionDetectr — use your device's camera to provide their core function. For these Apps:

  • Camera frames are analyzed on your device only to detect motion or scene changes. We do not receive, transmit, or store your camera feed.
  • When motion is detected while you have armed monitoring, the App saves short, silent video clips in the App's private on-device storage. These recordings are not uploaded to us or any third party.
  • A recording leaves the App only if you choose to share it using your device's share function, after which the recipient controls that copy.
  • Recordings are automatically limited by count, size, and free space, and you can delete any or all recordings at any time. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes local recordings.
  • These Apps do not identify people, recognize faces, record audio, provide remote or live video, or guarantee continuous monitoring.

F. Optional Alert Notifications (Apps that offer remote alerts, such as MotionDetectr)

Some Apps offer an optional alert feature that is off by default. If you choose to enable it (for example, MotionDetectr's ntfy alerts):

  • The App sends only a generic alert title and the event's UTC time, addressed by a random private topic, over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to the third-party service ntfy.sh.
  • It never sends video, images, audio, file contents, precise location, or personal identifiers.
  • The alert provider may observe network information (such as the random topic and IP address), may cache alert messages briefly (about 12 hours), and may use push-notification providers. The alert path uses transport encryption but is not end-to-end encrypted, and delivery is not guaranteed.
  • You can disable, rotate, or reset this feature at any time in the App's settings.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use collected information to:

  • Provide accurate, location-based Panchanga calculations
  • Display correct sunrise, sunset, moonrise, and moonset times for your location
  • Analyze pseudonymous and aggregate app usage to improve features
  • Fix bugs and improve app stability
  • Understand which features are most useful to users

DATA SHARING & THIRD PARTIES

We do not sell your personal data. We do not transfer your locally processed
location data to our servers or to third parties.

Depending on the platform and app version, our Apps may use the following
third-party services:

  • Google Firebase Analytics

– Purpose: App analytics, aggregate usage measurement, and feature improvement
– Data processed: App-instance identifiers, advertising identifiers where available, app interactions, screen views, sessions, coarse location derived by Google from masked IP address, and device/app metadata

– Purpose: Crash reporting, app stability, diagnostics, and quality metrics
– Data processed: Stack traces, crash logs, relevant app state, device metadata, Crashlytics installation UUID, Firebase installation identifiers, and session metadata

– Purpose: Receive push notifications and measure notification interactions
– Data processed: App version, Firebase installation identifiers, Firebase user agent, and notification interaction events where Analytics is enabled

– Purpose: Display advertisements
– Data processed/shared by Google Mobile Ads: IP address, user product interactions such as ad/app interactions, diagnostic information, Android advertising ID or Apple advertising identifier where applicable, app set ID, and other device/account identifiers where applicable

We do NOT share your precise device location with any third parties. Google,
Apple, advertising, analytics, and platform SDKs may derive coarse location from
network data such as IP address for analytics, advertising, fraud prevention,
and service operation where applicable.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

DATA STORAGE & SECURITY

  • Location data is processed locally and never transmitted externally
  • SDK analytics, ads, diagnostics, and platform data is processed securely by Google Firebase, Google AdMob, Google Play services, Apple services, and/or other platform providers where applicable
  • Local preferences are stored in your device's app storage
  • We do not maintain any external database of user information

YOUR RIGHTS & CHOICES

Location Permission:

  • You can deny location permission – the app will use default location settings
  • You can revoke location permission anytime via device Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Permissions
  • Denying location does not affect other app functionality

Analytics:

  • Analytics and ad SDK data is pseudonymous and not used by us to identify you by name, email, or phone number
  • You can reset or delete your Android advertising ID or Apple advertising identifier in your device settings where available
  • You may be able to limit ad personalization in your Google, Apple, or device settings

Data Deletion:

  • Clear app data: Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Storage > Clear Data
  • Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data
  • For Google-, Apple-, or SDK-processed analytics/advertising/crash data, use the privacy controls provided by the relevant platform or provider where available

For EU/EEA Residents (GDPR):
You have rights under GDPR, including the right to access, rectify, and erase your data where applicable. We do not maintain a user account database for these Apps, and we do not collect your name, email address, or phone number through the Apps. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

For California Residents (CCPA):
We do not sell personal information. We do not maintain user accounts or collect your name, email address, or phone number through the Apps. Google, Apple, advertising, analytics, and platform SDKs may process advertising IDs, installation IDs, app-instance IDs, and diagnostics as described above where applicable.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our Apps are intended for general audiences and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account information from children. Google, Apple, advertising, analytics, and platform SDKs may process pseudonymous identifiers and diagnostics as described above where applicable. Children should use the Apps only with parent or guardian consent.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App or via app updates. Continued use of our Apps after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
