Why Use This Tool

Approximate Placement Mockups

Review your creative in approximate Facebook Feed, Instagram Feed, Instagram Story, and Instagram Reels layouts before publishing. Check cropping, copy, and interface overlap, then confirm the final ad in Ads Manager.

Instant Feedback Loop

Edit your copy and headline in real time and watch the preview update instantly. Test different messaging angles and CTAs without touching Ads Manager.

No Signup, No Watermarks

Completely free. Your images never leave your browser. Everything runs locally using the FileReader API, so your creative assets stay private.

Multi-Format Support

Preview four layouts in one tool. Toggle between Facebook Feed, Instagram Feed, Instagram Story, and Instagram Reels with a single click.

How It Works

Step 1: Upload Your Creative

Drag and drop any image (JPG, PNG, WebP) or video (MP4, MOV) into the upload zone. Your file stays in your browser and is never uploaded to any server.

Step 2: Enter Your Ad Copy

Fill in your brand name, primary text, headline, description, and select a CTA button. The preview updates in real time as you type.

Step 3: Preview Across Formats

Toggle between Facebook Feed, Instagram Feed, Instagram Story, and Instagram Reels to compare approximate layouts. Adjust your creative and copy, export a review PNG, and confirm the final placement in Ads Manager.

Why Preview Your Meta Ads Before Publishing?

Previewing your creative before campaign setup gives you a way to inspect its composition, copy, and CTA together. A review mockup can help surface questions for your designer or reviewer before the final check in Ads Manager.

Creative can look different when its display width or aspect ratio changes. A headline may clip on a narrow screen, and a crop can move the focal point out of view. Use the mockup to inspect these possibilities, then use Ads Manager for the final platform preview.

This tool solves that problem. You upload your actual creative asset, enter your real ad copy, and get an approximate review mockup for Facebook Feed, Instagram Feed, Instagram Story, and Instagram Reels. You can iterate on copy, swap images, and test different CTAs before ever touching Ads Manager.

Share the exported mockup with stakeholders to discuss copy, cropping, and visual hierarchy. Make clear that it is a planning image and that the final platform layout can differ.

Facebook Feed Creative Planning

The examples below explain dimensions, cropping, and copy review. They are planning references, not a verified list of current platform requirements. Check the requirements shown for your chosen ad setup in Ads Manager before publishing.

Image Ads

Dimension examples: A 1080 x 1080 image is square (1:1); a 1200 x 628 image is approximately 1.91:1. Square and landscape compositions show different amounts of vertical content at the same width. This tool uses a landscape Facebook Feed mockup so you can inspect its crop.

Image review: This tool accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP. Check that embedded text is readable and that image detail survives at the intended display size. Browser preview support does not establish placement eligibility; check final upload requirements separately.

Copy review: This Facebook Feed mockup shortens primary text after 125 characters. Its headline and description use single lines that can clip to the available width. These are preview rules, not guaranteed platform limits.

Video Ads

Aspect ratio: A square frame is 1:1, and a portrait frame such as 1080 x 1350 is 4:5. Inspect the final composition for the placement you intend to buy rather than assuming that one crop works everywhere.

Duration: This tool plays the uploaded video for visual review and exports a paused frame as a still PNG. It does not validate duration eligibility. Check the duration rules shown in Ads Manager for your chosen placement and objective.

Video files: MP4 and MOV are accepted by this tool, subject to browser codec support. Check that your browser can decode the asset. Confirm encoding, file size, and other delivery requirements in Ads Manager.

Instagram Creative Planning

Feed Ads

Image: This Instagram Feed mockup uses a square frame. An asset with a different ratio will be cropped in Fill mode or padded in Fit mode. Inspect logos, faces, product screens, and embedded text at the displayed size.

Video: Review whether the focal point remains visible in the selected crop and whether the opening frames communicate the intended message. Playback in this tool does not validate the video for a live placement.

Caption: The Instagram Feed mockup shortens the preview after 90 characters. Put the main message early and use the feedback below the inputs to inspect the tool threshold. Check actual truncation in the final platform preview.

Story Ads

Vertical frame: This tool uses a 9:16 Story frame. A 1080 x 1920 design is one example of that ratio. Try Fill and Fit to see how assets with other proportions change the composition.

Video review: Review your opening message and the placement of embedded copy. This tool does not simulate Story delivery timing or validate duration; confirm those settings in Ads Manager.

Safe zones: Use the optional overlay to inspect an approximate central area clear of common interface elements. This tool reserves the top 14% and bottom 20%, with extra right-side space for Reels. These are review guides, not guaranteed platform safe zones; confirm your final creative in Ads Manager.

Reels Ads

Reels layout: The Reels mockup uses a 9:16 frame with illustrative action controls and a caption. Check whether important visual details conflict with those controls. The mockup does not validate placement eligibility, duration, or audio rights.

Creative Best Practices for Meta Ads

Use these prompts to form creative hypotheses and review the asset. The mockup cannot predict performance; measure results with your own campaign data.

1. Lead with the hook. Make the opening frame or visual focal point communicate the intended subject. Review it without relying on the caption, then test whether the opening works for your audience.

2. Clarify the main message. Identify the benefit and next action you want the viewer to understand. Use the mockup to check whether supporting details distract from that message.

3. Review with and without sound. Use captions, on-screen text, and visual storytelling where they help someone understand the ad with audio muted. Test that review alongside the intended sound-on experience.

4. Review supporting evidence. If you use testimonials, user counts, ratings, or logos, check that they are accurate, permitted, and readable in the crop. Test their effect using your own campaign results.

5. Test your CTA button. Choose a label that describes the destination action. Compare relevant options with the same creative and use your own results to assess the change.

6. Inspect the intended display size. Review the creative on the devices you plan to reach. Text that is readable on a large monitor may be hard to read in a smaller feed card.

Pre-Launch QA Checklist

Use this checklist to review your creative and campaign setup. The mockup is a visual planning aid and does not check delivery settings, policies, or performance.

Creative verification:

  • Image/video resolution and file settings meet the requirements shown for the selected placement in Ads Manager
  • Text overlays are readable at the intended display size and do not obscure the creative
  • Logo placement is readable and clear of interface overlays
  • Focal point is preserved across 1:1, 4:5, and 9:16 crops
  • Video has captions or on-screen text for sound-off viewing
  • Opening frames communicate the main message (test by watching on mute)

Copy verification:

  • Primary text communicates the main message before the mockup truncation point; final platform truncation is checked separately
  • Headline is readable within the available width; final platform truncation is checked separately
  • No spelling or grammar errors
  • CTA matches the landing page action (do not use "Shop Now" if the page is a lead form)
  • No restricted claims (guarantees, before/after, health claims) that violate Meta policies

Technical verification:

  • Landing page URL is correct and the page loads reliably on the intended device
  • Meta Pixel or Conversions API is firing on the landing page
  • UTM parameters are correctly appended for attribution tracking
  • Ad account has sufficient budget and the campaign is not paused
  • Audience targeting and campaign settings match the intended test plan

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this tool really free?

Yes, 100% free with no signup required. There are no usage limits, no watermarks, and no hidden fees. Your images and videos are processed entirely in your browser and never uploaded to any server.

Are my images uploaded to your servers?

No. The tool uses the browser's FileReader API to display your images locally. Your creative assets never leave your device. This also means previews are instant, with no upload wait time.

What file formats are supported?

Images: JPG, PNG, and WebP. Videos: MP4 and MOV, subject to browser codec support. This tool does not validate eligibility for a live ad placement.

Does this show exactly what my ad will look like on Facebook?

This is an approximate review mockup, not a live platform preview. Cropping, copy truncation, interface elements, and CTA placement can differ by device and ad setup. Engagement figures are illustrative. Confirm your final ad in Ads Manager.

Can I preview carousel ads or collection ads?

This tool provides approximate single-image and single-video mockups for Facebook Feed, Instagram Feed, Instagram Story, and Instagram Reels. It does not preview carousel or collection layouts or validate whether an asset is eligible for a live placement.

What aspect ratio should I use for each placement?

This tool uses a 1.91:1 Facebook Feed mockup, a square Instagram Feed mockup, and 9:16 Story and Reels mockups. Fill crops to the layout; Fit preserves the whole asset with padding. Confirm the available aspect ratios for your final ad setup in Ads Manager.

How do I know if my text will be truncated?

The tool reports its own preview thresholds: 125 characters for Facebook Feed, 90 for Instagram Feed, and 80 for the Reels caption. Story does not display primary text. These are mockup rules, not platform limits; actual truncation depends on the ad setup and available display width.

Can I save or download the preview?

Click Download PNG mockup to save a locally rendered review image. Video exports the current paused frame as a still PNG. Enabled guides are included. The export is an approximate mockup rather than a platform screenshot.
